House and Land

The house sits on 34 acres of private woods and fields, with a stream and pond. Directly adjacent to Manistee National Forest, trails lead from the land right into the forest, perfect for hikes in Spring, Summer, and Fall. Pond is stocked if you want to stay home, or the Manistee river is just 10 minutes away for canoeing, kayaking and other water sports.

In winter the Caberfae ski resort is only 10 minutes away, and you can snowmobile right out of the driveway into the surrounding area. This house is remote, if you want the wilderness, we've got it, but you can still hop in the car and drive the kids to Cadillac for a family movie.

The house itself has a beautiful open kitchen-dining-living area. One family can spread out into 4 bedrooms, or two families can take 2 bedrooms each. Two of the bedrooms are separated from the other two, for plenty of privacy. In winter you can fire up the wood stove and watch the snow fall in cozy comfort.

Situated in Harrietta, Michigan, 20 minutes from Cadillac and surrounded by woods. The property has seasonal berries and Morel Mushrooms, plus trails on the property and leading directly into the adjacent Manistee National Forest.

The property is just minutes from the Manistee River, the Hodenpyl Dam and the Dam Backwaters, and an easy drive to Michigan's many blue-water and white-sand beaches. This splendid retreat offers your family or group all the beauty and opportunities of the Northern Woods, including hunting, fishing, bird-watching and hiking.

Family friendly, pet friendly This is a great vacation home for one or two families to spend a week of good fun. Two of the bedrooms and one living room are back behind the kitchen. When we go with only one family we will often just close the door and forget about that area. When the cousins and the aunts and uncles come for the week, they can get plenty of privacy when needed in the back area, or come out into the spacious and wide-open kitchen-dining-living area where there are usually 3 or 4 conversations going on. Look for crayons, markers and paper near the phone!

Blackberries in August Late August is perfect wild blackberry season. We've got acres of 'em!

Morels in Spring. This is a base of operations for your Morel hunting, only 10 minutes away from Mesick and the Mesick mushroom festival.

Hunting Blinds

There are four hunting blinds on the property of this vacation home. Two are complete structures, one is a 3-wall, and one is a dug-out.
